What are environmental compliance services?

Environmental compliance services are a set of practices that ensure compliance with legal and environmental standards and challenges applicable to the activity of organisations. These services guarantee a response to the requirements imposed by current regulations regarding the end-of-life management of products that producers or packagers place on the market.

In Portugal, the General Waste Management Regime defines a set of rules and principles with which producers must comply. The principle of Extended Producer Responsibility assumes that waste management should be the responsibility of the waste producer.

This responsibility can be transferred to an integrated waste management system, such as Electrão, by paying an eco-fee.
